A playground visit, a skate session, or a shaded place to sit can reveal something about a park that a planning document cannot.

Scottsdale residents now have an opportunity to bring that everyday experience into the discussion about Eldorado Park improvements.

Where to participate this week

A public meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at Eldorado Community Center, 2311 N. Miller Road.

Residents and park users can meet the project team, review the improvements being considered, and share priorities.

Online participation is also available through park and skate park feedback forms and an interactive map on the city’s project page.

What is being considered

Potential work includes playgrounds, shade, Wedge Skate Park, restrooms, picnic facilities, landscaping, and other aging amenities.

A pump track is also being considered.

No improvements have been finalized, making this a chance to comment while design options are still being developed.

The city has budgeted $780,000 for the first design phase in fiscal year 2026/27.

Make your feedback specific

Before the meeting, think about one place you use regularly and one change that would make that visit better.

Describe the location, the activity, and the situation rather than simply asking for a general upgrade.

For example, a useful comment might explain where your family needs shade while supervising children or where the route between amenities feels awkward.

Separate your observations from your proposed solution so the project team can understand the underlying need.

Include what you value about the park as well as what you would change.

That can help explain which existing experiences deserve attention as new options are discussed.

Keep planning and construction distinct

A design budget does not mean every possible improvement is funded or scheduled for construction.

Treat proposals as ideas under review and ask what steps would be needed before a particular feature could proceed.

Residents who cannot attend can prepare the same specific comments for the online feedback options.

Keep a copy of your suggestions and follow later updates to see how the discussion develops.

This week’s opportunity is to help shape priorities for a Scottsdale gathering place before the details are settled.
