The Scottsdale Police Department will soon deploy an AI-powered call system to enhance how it handles non-emergency calls.
This advanced solution is designed to quickly address routine requests—like report inquiries and general information—helping reduce wait times for residents.
As non-emergency call volume continues to climb, the department’s new system will free up live dispatchers, enabling them to prioritize urgent and emergency situations.
City Manager Greg Caton stressed that modernizing communications ensures public safety professionals remain focused on essential calls.
Residents can still opt to speak with a dispatcher, while all emergency calls will be handled by trained personnel as usual.
Police Chief Joe LeDuc emphasized this technology supports, not replaces, hardworking staff.
With phased rollout and training underway, the system is expected to launch later this year, reflecting a strong commitment to improved public service.
