Scottsdale Nonprofit Steps Up With $100K to Fight Local Hunger

Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation has made a significant contribution to combat hunger in Arizona.

 

The Scottsdale-based nonprofit recently donated $100,000 to the Arizona Food Bank Network, a statewide coalition dedicated to addressing food insecurity.

 

This generous donation will support key food distribution centers, including the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, St. Mary’s Food Bank, United Food Bank, and the Yuma Community Food Bank, among others.

 

The funds are earmarked for centers serving a high percentage of individuals and households relying on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

 

According to recent reports, one in seven Arizonans struggles with hunger.

 

Through a coalition of five food banks and over 1,000 food pantries and agencies, efforts are underway to address this pressing issue.

 

This donation will help feed more than 700,000 food-insecure individuals across all 15 counties in Arizona who seek assistance from food banks each month.

 

In Scottsdale, local initiatives are also making strides in combating hunger.

 

The Scottsdale Food Bank provides essential food boxes to families in need, operating by appointment to ensure efficient service.

 

Additionally, programs like Healthy Packs offer weekend meals to students who might otherwise go hungry when school meals are unavailable.
