Actor Kevin Costner to Host 'Field of Dreams' Screening at Scottsdale Stadium |
Scottsdale is set to host a unique blend of sports and cinema as Kevin Costner returns for the annual Western Wiffle Ball Classic on Saturday, October 25, at Scottsdale Stadium.
The event kicks off at 9 a.m., featuring wiffle ball teams from over 20 states, including Arizona, California, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts, competing for top honors.
Following the championship game, attendees will be treated to a special screening of Costner's iconic film, Field of Dreams, with the actor himself in attendance.
Field of Dreams has inspired countless fans to create their own backyard wiffle ball fields, embodying the film's famous line, "If you build it, they will come."
Logan Rose, founder of the Western Wiffle Ball League, expressed his excitement: "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be in the same stadium and watch Field of Dreams with Kevin Costner."
Rose, a Scottsdale resident, started the league during the pandemic and has seen it grow into a national event.
The tournament will also feature a Home Run Derby, allowing players to showcase their batting skills.
Admission to the championship game and movie screening is free, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
