WM Phoenix Open in Scottsdale Unveils New Hospitality Construction Upgrade

TPC Scottsdale's Iconic 'Coliseum' to Feature Enhanced Fan Experience and Sustainability Initiatives

The renowned 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale, famously dubbed "The Coliseum," is set for a significant transformation ahead of the 2026 WM Phoenix Open in Scottsdale. This construction rivals the Bird's Nest. Organizers have unveiled plans for a state-of-the-art, reusable modular hospitality structure aimed at elevating the fan experience and reinforcing the tournament's commitment to sustainability.

Construction commenced on September 15, 2025, in Scottsdale, focusing on creating a venue with wider interior bays and higher ceilings. These enhancements promise more spacious suites and improved sightlines for spectators. The introduction of frameless glass railings on all levels will offer unobstructed views of the action, providing a more immersive experience for attendees.

A notable addition to the 16th hole is the Pin Hi Club, a new hospitality venue located to the golfer's left of the green at ground level. For the first time, Scottsdale locals and fans will have the opportunity to purchase individual daily tickets to this exclusive area, which will feature top-tier food and beverage options. This expansion increases the structure to four stories, marking a significant evolution in the hole's history.

Sustainability remains a cornerstone of the Scottsdale WM Phoenix Open. The new 16th hole structure is designed to be 100% reusable, aligning with the tournament's zero-waste goals. This modular design is expected to significantly reduce the need for new construction materials annually, thereby decreasing the environmental impact associated with the event.

Scottsdale Tournament Chairman Jason Eisenberg expressed enthusiasm about the upgrades, stating, "For years, the 16th hole has set the standard for excitement in the golf world. Now, with this new structure, the 16th hole will also set the standard for what a premium fan experience is, not just in golf, but in sports."

The construction is projected to take approximately four to five months, with completion anticipated by January 2026. This timeline allows for final preparations and ensures that all amenities meet the high standards expected by fans and participants alike.

The 2026 WM Phoenix Open is scheduled to return to TPC Scottsdale from February 2–8, marking the 91st edition of "The People's Open." Recognized multiple times as the PGA TOUR's Tournament of the Year, the event continues to set benchmarks in fan engagement and environmental responsibility.

With these enhancements in Scottsdale, the 16th hole is poised to offer an unparalleled experience, blending the excitement of golf with innovative hospitality and sustainable practices.
