For those seeking a delightful escape this Mother's Day weekend, the 8th Annual Verde Valley Wine Festival offers an enticing destination.

 

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Riverfront Park in Cottonwood, Arizona, this celebrated event is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

Co-sponsored by the Verde Valley Wine Consortium and the City of Cottonwood, the festival showcases the finest offerings from Arizona's burgeoning wine industry.

 

Attendees can anticipate a vibrant atmosphere featuring 20 local wineries, each pouring their latest releases by the glass, bottle, or case.

 

Complementing the wine selections are local beers, spirits, and a variety of culinary delights from nearby eateries.

 

Artisan vendors will display unique creations, and live music performances will enhance the festive mood.

 

Festival organizer Paula Woolsey emphasizes the event's appeal:

 

"This event is the best way to celebrate Mother's Day! It's a wonderful opportunity for families to celebrate mothers while enjoying local wines and delicious food. The chance to meet the winemakers adds a personal touch, allowing attendees to learn more about their favorite wines directly from the source."

 

Among the participating wineries are:

 

1764 Vineyards, Alcantara Vineyards, Arizona Stronghold, Bodega Pierce, Cactus Cru, Caduceus Cellars/Merkin/48, Chateau Tumbleweed, Cove Mesa Vineyard, Da Vines Vineyard, Dos Cabezas Wineworks, Grand Canyon Winery, Laramita Cellars, Oak Creek Vineyards, Omphalos Winery, Page Springs Cellars, Queen of Cups, Rubrix Wines, Salt Mine Wine, Southwest Wine Center, Twisted Union Wine Company, and WildCatter Winery.

 

Additional libations will be provided by Desert Diamond Distillery and The Belfry Brewery.

 

Food enthusiasts can look forward to offerings from food trucks such as Campfire Grill, Craft Wood Fired Pizza, and The Gravy Train, alongside treats from The Tiny Gourmet, Carolina's Chocolates, Gia's Toffee, and Positively Frosted.

 

Live music will feature performances by Mr. Hugh Mungus from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Muddy Rabbit from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., and headliner Naughty Bits from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

 

Early Bird tickets are available for $20 per person, including a commemorative wine glass and six tasting tickets.

 

Tickets will also be available at the door for $25 per person.
