Nonprofit Offers Guidance on New Utility Discounts for Low-Income Households |
Scottsdale residents served by Salt River Project (SRP) are facing new pricing structures that may impact their monthly utility bills.
In response, Wildfire, a nonprofit dedicated to combating poverty, is urging low-income households to take advantage of expanded SRP discount programs designed to alleviate financial strain.
Under the revised SRP Income-Qualified Discount™, eligible customers can receive:
$35 off their monthly bill if their household income is up to 150% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), an increase from the previous $23 discount.
$10 off their monthly bill for households with incomes between 151% and 200% of the FPL, a newly included group.
These changes aim to provide more substantial support to those in need.
To determine eligibility and enroll in the discount program, customers can visit SRP's official website or contact their customer service.
Additionally, Wildfire offers resources and assistance for energy-related financial challenges.
For more information, Scottsdale residents can reach out to the Vista Del Camino Community Action Program at 7700 E. Roosevelt, Scottsdale, AZ 85257, or call 480.312.2323.
By proactively applying for these programs, eligible residents can mitigate the impact of SRP's rate adjustments and manage their energy expenses more effectively. |
