Scottsdale’s summer is getting sweeter with the return of the pineapple festival at Craft 64 this August.

Locals are buzzing about this annual event, which has quickly become a highlight among foodies seeking inventive eats and lively gatherings in the Valley.

Few debates in the food world stir as much passion as whether pineapple belongs on pizza.

This festival takes that controversy and flips it on its head, inviting guests to embrace the tropical fruit in daring new culinary adventures.

Inside Old Town Scottsdale, Craft 64 is celebrating the Pineapple Festival Scottsdale with an exclusive, pineapple-packed menu running through the end of August.

This year’s collection of seasonal specials includes familiar favorites for loyal fans and a few unexpected twists that capture the spirit of summer.

The adventurous will gravitate toward the Figgy Piggy Pizza, a pie that mingles fire-roasted pineapple, sweet fig sauce, cherry wood-smoked bacon, creamy ricotta and aged Parmesan, finished with a flourish of fresh basil.

Even classicists might be swayed by the Southwest Hawaiian, featuring a robust pineapple sauce, Canadian bacon, and a melty blend of house-made mozzarella and Parmesan, dusted with oregano.

Appetizers shine, too, from Adobo Piña Pizza to Jalapeño n’ Piña Smoked Wings, all designed to leave an impression, and perhaps convert a few pineapple skeptics.

The smoked wings sound like the move if you're going with someone who won't touch the pineapple pizza. Good to have options.

DerekFoodsExactly what I was thinking. My husband refuses to even look at pineapple pizza so the wings give him an out while I go full tropical. Works for everyone.

Took my coworkers here for lunch last August and we ended up staying two hours. That ricotta on a pizza is something else.

Brenda H.Two hours for lunch sounds about right at that place. The patio gets you every time. What did you end up ordering?

Every year people act shocked that pineapple pizza exists and every year places like this sell out. Just let people enjoy it.

Adobo Piña pizza is new to me. Wonder if that has more of a smoky or tangy flavor going on. Curious enough to find out.

Been driving past Craft 64 for years and still haven't gone in. This might be the push I needed honestly.

Kevin B.Just go! We walked in on a whim last summer and ended up loving it. The wood fired crust alone is worth it even before you factor in the festival menu.

The Southwest Hawaiian sounds like the safe pick for people who are on the fence. Canadian bacon and house mozzarella is pretty hard to mess up.

Sara_eats_AZAgreed. And fire roasted pineapple on the Figgy Piggy is probably where people should go if they actually want to be surprised. The Hawaiian is the comfort zone pick for sure.

You're not wrong, the Southwest Hawaiian is a great entry point, and that house-made mozzarella blend really does tie everything together for anyone still warming up to pineapple on pizza.

August in Scottsdale is brutal. Nice to at least have something worth going out for.

      scottsdalelocal_88· Aug 7, 7:11 PM

Greg OhlmanHa, right. It's rough out there. But honestly a cold beer and a good pizza in AC is basically the only way to survive August here.

Ha, Scottsdale summers are no joke, but a pineapple-packed menu at Craft 64 feels like a pretty solid reason to brave the heat for a night out in Old Town.

My husband refuses to eat pineapple on pizza. I might drag him here just to prove a point.

Craft 64 is a solid spot in Old Town. Good to see them doing something creative during the slow summer months.

      OldTownRegular· Aug 7, 7:11 PM

tom_oldtownYeah Old Town gets pretty quiet once the tourists clear out for the summer so it's nice when spots like this give locals a reason to come out.

Pineapple on pizza is still a no from me but I appreciate that Craft 64 makes it a whole event. At least it's fun about it.

      DanteVP· Aug 7, 7:11 PM

Melissa TranThat's kind of the perfect attitude for it honestly. You don't have to love pineapple pizza to have fun at a pineapple pizza festival. The wings alone seem worth the trip.

    RicardoV· Aug 7, 5:20 PM

Went last year and the wings were the highlight for me. Glad they have the jalapeño pineapple ones again this summer.

RicardoVThe jalapeño pineapple combo sounds so good. Did you get them extra spicy or just as they come? Trying to figure out what to order when we go.

Those Jalapeño n' Piña Smoked Wings are definitely a standout, we're thrilled to hear they made such an impression last year and can't wait for you to dive back in this August!

The Figgy Piggy Pizza sounds actually amazing. Fig sauce and fire-roasted pineapple together? I would not have guessed that combo but now I really want to try it.

    • EB
      Erik BurtonAuthor· Aug 7, 7:11 PM

The fire-roasted pineapple is what really makes that combo sing, the caramelized sweetness playing against the fig sauce and smoky bacon is one of those unexpected pairings that just works beautifully together.
