Scottsdale Husky Rescue: Tango's Journey to a New Life

From Euthanasia List to Loving Home: Tango's Inspiring Transformation

Tango, a 5-year-old Husky mix, has faced significant challenges but is now showcasing her affectionate nature.

Initially placed on the Scottsdale euthanasia list after a single incident involving a leash, her overall behavior indicated a well-mannered and loving dog.

During her assessment, Tango entered and exited her kennel without issues, welcomed affection, and displayed no reactivity towards other dogs.

She wagged her tail when meeting new people and allowed thorough handling, including dental checks.

Tango sits politely, takes treats gently, and walks beautifully on a leash.

This gentle and loving girl had one unfortunate day that nearly cost her everything.

Now in a foster home, Tango has adjusted beautifully.

She’s mellow, affectionate, and absolutely loves her walks.

She enjoys belly rubs and is a true cuddle bug, always happy to relax with her people or climb into your lap.

Tango can be playful but shows signs of wanting to be in charge with other dogs, so she may do best as the only pet or with calm companions.

She’s protective of her food, so she’ll need a home that can respect those boundaries, especially if there are children.

Luckily, she responds very well to verbal correction and redirection.

Some of her favorite things include mealtime, tasty treats, belly rubs, walks, and soaking up all the love she can get.

Tango had some hindlimb lameness that we could not seem to figure out, so we ended up getting her a neurological consult and MRI.

Tango would thrive in a home that’s either active or mellow. She’s flexible, as long as she gets her walks and affection.

She’s currently living with both small and large dogs, but may do best as the only dog or with other animals who respect her space.

She hasn’t been tested with cats, so we are not quite sure how she would do living with them.

She could be good with children ages 3 and up, as long as they can understand and respect her food boundaries.

If you think you could be Tango’s perfect dance partner for life, fill out an application to meet her today!

In related news, AZ Husky Rescue has been actively involved in rescuing and rehabilitating Huskies in the Scottsdale area.

Recently, they organized an adoption event at Zoom Room Scottsdale, providing opportunities for Huskies like Tango to find their forever homes.

Additionally, the rescue has been instrumental in saving numerous Huskies from challenging situations, including a significant rescue operation in rural northern Arizona, where dozens of Huskies were found and are now up for adoption.

These efforts highlight the ongoing need for community support and awareness in rescuing and rehoming Huskies in need.

For those interested in adopting or supporting the cause, upcoming events and more information can be found through local rescue organizations.

By opening your heart and home, you can make a significant difference in the lives of dogs like Tango.
